Oh yes. I was originally looking forward to defeating all the valkyries. I was putting them off until late game when I had some good upgrades, but I just got so exhausted by this other crap that I lost interest. Also, every time I go to the dwarves, I have bags and bags of loot -- all kinds of legendary and purple doodads and eyes and hearts and stones of this, that, and the other -- and I can never get an upgrade. Either the dwarves can craft something that is inferior to what already have, or I don't have whatever tchotchke they need. I suspect I don't really need embers of frufheim or whatever to fight valkyries -- I just need to learn their move sets. And I would if I thought there would be any point to it, but I don't think there will be. Will their loot help me defeat Baldur? I doubt it, since my encounters with him have been nothing more than timing and QTE contests. Therefore, I guess the valkyries exist for their own sakes. I could accept that if the rest of the game could live up to the same standard, but it just doesn't.
