RE: Firsties!
I was surprised I liked it as much as I did. It's basically a GTA clone with Deus Ex implants thrown in.
I hate how they made skills into mitigations of a big stamina problem they saddle you with, and to get any benefit you either have to do aerial dash stunts or sacrifice something useful. Whatever happened to plain old power gain? or health gain?
I do like the cyberware and netrunner stuff, though. I invested in Intelligence and quick hacks. I feared being chased by Arasaka hit squads until I got enough RAM to blow up their vehicles. If some survived, I just set their brains on fire.
Some of the quests are interesting, but CDPR struggles with authentic street language and the whole concept of toughness. The characters are morally dirty but not convincingly gangster.
On the other hand, I loved doing all the gigs for fixers, especially the more challenging stealth ones.
The game's major strength is that the player can specialize in all sorts of interesting paths. It's just a bit of a slog to make the specialties work well.
