It's not just that it looks cheap and shitty. The development team is, in fact, just one Finnish lunatic who can barely code or model to save his life. At some point during which the game had passed its fourth year in early access, the guy finally let his wife help out with development so the game could reach 1.0.
It took them nine years.
Even then, there's no other game quite like it. There's been a bunch of imitators (Mon Bazou for example, which is just simplified French Canadian My Summer Car) but none of them have come close to the level of interaction in MSC. I have high hopes for My Winter Car, coming sometime in 2058.
