I took a look at my PHP source code for MBM
That shit is just never gonna run again. To be fair, I wrote it when I was like... 19? I dunno what I was thinking. Also PHP 6 was ass, but my Perl version was so much harder to maintain.
I though PHP might bring webdev jobs. LOL at least I never went down that blind alley.
Anyway Johnny-G, Muppet is a pretty good moniker imo.
Dreamhost is now charging me a $5/month shame fee for running PHP 7 code on their hosting bc I have a couple small apps I still use/need and don't care to host on my LAN. I took a look at porting it to 8.2 and couldn't make myself care.
What the hell do people even write web apps in these days? React and C# or some shit? I think I'd die.
By the way, I don't know if Brite ever comes around on here, somehow I doubt it. We don't talk much anymore because he got old and cranky and I guess I did, too. Anyway, point is, I ended up having that Panda-Z parody robot figure--the actual guy--on my office desk. he's pretty cool and stands right next to a similarly-scaled Mazinger Z.
I've been working from home for ten years now, and my office is full of mecha, transformers, Ghostbusters, TMNT... because my only joy in life anymore--outside of my children--are 80s and 90s IPs, as God intended.
Anyhow I'm glad Sim's not dead. Hello and goodbye.
