RE: More impressions of Star Wars Outlaws
The first asassins creed was pretty OK, but the endless remakes are pretty hard to even stomach IMO. Even the best meal tastes like shit vomitted up and re-served.
Same with Star Wars. As a 70s kid obvs I had a hard on for SW: when the trailer for the eps 1 monstrosity arrived unannounced in the theater, my wife was in the hallway with an armful of sodas and popcorn (she heard the music) and she told me she trampled little children in an effort to get back to our seats with our little children.
That said, I don't "consume" a lot of SW stuff anymore unless it is free and I am drunk. It is pretty bad, cynical even. The music soundtracks actually kind of prime people to ignore how poorly written that shit is. Jedi 2 Outcast & Academy, Force Unleashed 1, Survivor and Fallen order (and lego 1 & 2) were all decent. (p.s. the lego stuff suck otherwise, something about no dialog and light sabers saved the formula). I avoided the Ubi game because I am sick and tired and I can't take it anymore (/s), but really I just didn't want to encourage it. However I basically take it as fact that the game review content is astro-turfing: I usually just look at a no-commentary run.
Zero Dawn is wicked good (and I ignored it for a while because the shitty ark dino games and I thought the dino angle was corny), but imagine if someone forced it into a shit franchise like the good SW games. The canon nerds who actualize the novelization might wet themselves, but it usually dilutes the game.
Now, I am off to play mechwarrior 5: mercs Spaceballs merchandizing edition.
