Subject: RE: More impressions of Star Wars Outlaws

Since I last posted, I did finish the main quest for Origins. I forced myself to get through the ending so I could go back to Bayek and free roam. When I have nothing else to do, this is a good filler.

I also finished AC Mirage, which I got on sale. Parts of it are good. They're the usual Ubisoft things - excellent world crafting (9th century Baghdad is quite an accomplishment) and cinematic-grade music. The gameplay is complete butt wash. You have the eagle for overhead spotting, but you can't use it until you kill the marksmen inhabiting every fort. Stealth is hit and miss, but you must use it because the main character is useless in combat. The story is ridiculous and only moderately more coherent than the awful side content. It's just bad.

Some of Shadows is enjoyable. The stealth is better than in Mirage. The combat is considerably improved. The music is pretty good, as is the crafting of 16th century Japan. The main story is even less comprehensible than Mirage's. Both the main quest and all the side content is marred by constant overlapping of conflicting quest goals. Also, as Naoe (the girl) you waste a lot of time finding potential knowledge points and legendary gear, only to find out that she can't use any of it because it's intended for Yasuke, and vice versa. It's a mess on a cosmic scale. I fail to see how people get all the way through it.

I'm waiting for the Gothic remake to get patched before buying it, having learned my lesson with the Oblivion remastered business.
