On a related topic, I've been playing The Witcher 3 Remastered for 15 hours and I just got to level 2. It's so cool how they keep you from being OP. I've found nearly all the places of power, most of the bandit camps, and have killed about 6,000 monsters. In most crappy AAA games, I would be level 245 by now. Thankfully, The Witcher 3 makes monster fights completely worthless. Even better, side quests are worth 25xp. I was worried that I would get to level 2 much too fast, but CDPR had this under control.
Good thing I'm only level 2 because encounters where I'm too high-leveled would give me little to no XP. All the enemies are level 4-6, so I'm getting not just .002 points for every ghoul and bandit; I'm easily getting 3.4 points.
Igni is my favorite sign. All I have to do is cast it at a red barrel or swamp gas, and the fight is over. I wish the explosion would kill enemies, but the fact that there's no range to Igni means I die rapidly and don't have to drag out the fight. GOTY
The loot is amazing. In 15 hours, I've found a dozen steel swords and various 1 and 2 point upgrades for my boots and gloves. I've also found diagrams for armor crafting, but I don't have to worry about mat loot showers. The game meticulously sees to it that I never get any of the last crafting part I need to craft some yellow thing that gives me 1% more resistance to Drowner vomit or whatever.
Absolute masterpiece so far.
