The bike companies actually come out to Moose Mtn with vans full of bikes to demo. I rode one of the Trek Fuel EX 9s in carbon. Thing climbed like it had a motor on it. But $8k. But then... http://www.trekbikes.com/ca/en/story/fuel_ex/why
