actually, I said cable modem when i should have said dsl modem.

anyways, i think the damn thing is killing wireless routers. expensive ones, at that. my roomate has to have gigabit ethernet which makes the routers like $120. so what happens is, it works great for any period of time and then the router will drop all wifi connections and the network will be listed but not able to connect to. at the same time the router will assign 2 computers the same ip and create an ip conflict. and the WAN ip drops so theres no internet connectivity. cycling the router power seems to be a short term fix. that is, until it kills this router like it did the 2 previous ones.

first was a d-link gamer lounge, that it completely killed. the next one was a linksys, killed. and the 3rd is a linksys. none of this happened till we switched providers from cable internet to dsl. so, as much as im in disbelief that it coudl be the dsl modem, im out of ideas. i'm lazy about it cause my roommate keeps buying the routers, so its costing me nothing.
