Cable internet is great if your cable company has to face serious competition with other ISPs in your area. If they don't, they oversell accounts and send techs to your house who tell you that there's not enough bandwidth for everyone but not to worry; the company plans to upgrade in the next couple of months. A year later, they're telling you exactly the same thing. Not all cable ISPs are run by charlatans, but there are more than enough to go around.
