RE: morrowind...
Certain mechanics in Oblivion are idiotic:
1. The mercantile system -- horrible. If you want the merchants to have more money, you have to use your own money and waste level points.
2. The enchantment system -- needlessly expensive and fiddly.
3. Weapons and armor -- this whole business is idiotic.
4. Enemy scaling -- see number 3.
5. Houses -- why do I have to buy houses? and then pay more money to decorate them? where is this money supposed to come from until I'm extremely advanced in the game? why do things keep falling off shelves and flying around the room?
6. Physics -- see number 5 -- also, good luck buying a certain house if the lizard guy real estate agent fall through a crack on one of his daily walks.
7. Loot -- awful.
8. Magic system -- utterly ruined -- so many things wrong with this.
9. Daedric shrine quests -- mostly disappointing.
10. Mini-games -- . . . . . . mini-games . . . what are mini-games doing in what's supposed to be an epic fantasy? why is it better to use a silly persuasion wheel? why is the lockpicking system better as a mini-game? Totally ruined.
11. Stupid item placement when items aren't random -- in one side quest, you're supposed to acquire a certain kind of cheese. The cheese is in a locked glass display cabinet. Who would put cheese in a display cabinet?
12. Horses -- unless you get the Dark Brotherhood horse, there's no point in riding. Eventually, your expensive horse will die at the hands of level 48 bandits wielding Daedric axes. If you park your horse for a few minutes to explore something, the horse will start heading back to the place where you first found/bought it. Why?
13. Repetition -- everything is crapped out from templates. People who bought this game in 2006 (?) are STILL PLAYING IT. HOW? WHAT KIND OF MIND IS CAPABLE OF THIS?
