Subject: RE: morrowind...

The things that are great about Morrowind are also what ruin it -- very powerful items and almost complete exploitability. You come across all kinds of things that instantly trivialize what are intended to be difficult encounters.

There's a situation near Gnisis that nets you an item with insanely high Chameleon -- game is basically over right there. The Ordinator exploit added to Creeper = game over. The ease of getting money + being able to enchant your PANTS = game over.

But you can't think like this. It's not game over unless you're one of those posers on every RPG forum who use one hand to type complaints about how a game is too easy while using the other hand to type in cheat codes. The exploitability is a weakness, yes, but it's also fascinating.

Bethesda made a true sandbox game that lets you do anything you want if you can figure it out. I think they only "fixed" one exploit in a patch, so they seem to want you to tinker with many, many exploits and find absurdly overpowered items. Works for me.
