I'm tempted by some sort of portable internet appliance to keep on the side table in my living room so that I can move all of the computers upstairs into the bedrooms and make more room downstairs, but the iPad is overpriced for that and doesn't run Flash.
I'm sort of interested in the Notion Ink Adam, but even the stripped down model with no 3G and no fancy display is supposedly going to be priced at $399, and that's more than I'd pay.
The Archos is almost the right device. The price is right and the feature set sounds good, but I've heard that it's hard to install new Android apps on without modifying the OS and the processor is underpowered.
Tablets aren't decent internet appliances yet unless you spend $500, it looks like, so I'll wait.
Too bad the browser on the nook sucks so bad (good thing I didn't buy it to go online).
