Subject: RE: Fallout

it is, in many ways the same game, only with different events and stuff that you don't know already. This is good in that you can replay fallout 3 without knowing the stuff you know already, like knowing to go straight to the one vault to release your father, and then go straight to the brotherhood to unlock power armor skill.

The things that make it better are things that you can probably get mods for, but see paragraph above about knowing knowy things. Improvements so far: mixed random mobs instead of one creature at every grid line intersection. You can iron-sights snipe now: the bullets do not evaporate after 500 ft. Hardcore mode makes it so you can't heal limbs with stimpacks. You can heal limbs with a medic bag, but it does not fill the limb meter, it only restores tiny bits at a time, so unless you go to a doctor, you are in a constant cycle of limb damage. You limp but its not so debilitating that you will rage wuit. Ammo has weight. You can break down ammo for components and refill old cartidges. You need to eat and drink. Original Fallout series music is back. The game is much harder on normal difficulty with hardcore mode on.

There are problems with steam and save games. I had to make a bat file to wipe the steam cloud folder before launching the game. Otherwise the quick save and autosaves will get overwritten with old ones and you potentially lose shit tons of progression.
