It only snows once or twice a year here, at least snow with any sort of road accumulation-type snow, so I don't worry about a second set of tires.
I am, however, reminded of the time when my coworker and I had a trad-show's worth of materials in a trailer stuck in the snow. TLDNR: wooden boards are not recommended for traction. They become rockets.
