Depending on the map, sometimes you can't send the boomer in first. I mean, you can... but there's only about 2 or 3 spots max in front of each safe room that you can spawn, so if you're playing a veteran team, they'll put a bullet in you as soon as you spawn. My favorite is the 2nd map in Dead Center. I always run out first, crouch, and immediately aim at the awning to the left of the safe room door since that's where 90% of the infected spawn. Nothing better than popping a boomer before he can drop.
