anyways, as far as spoofing. thats stupid. think about it. if you spoofed the source information (your ip, etc) of your request for the data (copyrighted material) that would go out there and be ok assuming it got transported to the destination through gateways and they didn't just junk your packet because they know the ip in the header isn't where it came from. but maybe the spoofed ip was in the range so the ip spoofed was ok (like your neighbor). so assuming thats ok, then the guy on the other side gets the request and goes to send actual data back. he's going to send it back to the ip in the request, which is someone thats not even asking for that data. so that person wont even accept it. and is certainly not going to ack. so you're certainly not going to be downloading anything by spoofing an ip.
its a lot more likely that someone hopped on a wireless network he had open, or he did it.
