RE: ~~HAPPY VALENTINES DAY~~
I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom releases an update that allows one to restrict simple controls during the lobby, it really is ridiculous how well you can do with them enabled.
The air partner combos work fluidly and can be countered so there's always a chance to escape, basically it works like this: You initiate the launcher from the ground preferably off a ground combo, while in the air you do your best air combo and end it with a directional input + the launcher button, the next character in the queue shows up with a flying attack and you can then follow up with another air combo with the option of bringing in your third character for yet another air combo and optionally an aerial hyper finisher, the directional input you choose will be the way your opponent will be physically launched by the next character in the queue. In order for the guy getting walloped to break out of each combo exchange, he only needs to match whatever direction input you picked when the exchange occurs.
Haggar isn't a strictly grapple character, he's half and half with an average dash, though his ultra *is* a grapple that does half a punishing gauge worth of damage and the input isn't even hard to do. As usual with characters that look grapple based I'm assuming he's not gonna be very popular online.
And as usual, I can tell you every single idiot is going to pick X-23.
