I'm not sure if hurricane kick cancels projectiles though some low fliers may go under you, it definitely can't go through beams, but yes hurricane kick pretty much has priority over anything the other guy throws at you. Don't forget the teleport, dpb+SP, that move is pretty much why most shoto players pick Akuma over Ryu.
