Thats why I said I was gonna mount the PC to the ceiling in the basement right below the TV, and run the wires up. Luckily the location of the TV will enable me to mount the case along the outside wall of my basement stairs, so it won't particularly be in the way of anything, and all the cable lengths shouldn't need to be more than 6 feet.
