Have any of you considered how hard it would be to write a context-less play? I mean, think about it. How would you write your play so that it isn't dated with some kind of topicality or technology? Waiting for Godot kind of does this, but who wants to sit through it? I'm afraid that your mainstream playgoer is going to count on you for Brad Pitt/Lady Gaga love child iPad references. Don't you agree? I mean, how would you get around this?
One solution: let David Mamet write plays while you keep your day job at Bass Pro.
