I have Mamet-quality conversations with customers every day at Bass Pro. Thank goodness this store opened up in Calgary last year. We've been lacking a good center of intellectual life. This one fellow in particular was agonizing over the confrontation with his own mortality brought on by the triple whammy of his fathers death, turning 60, and an impending divorce while flipping through fly fishing vests. Another discussed the unappreciated impact upon western society by the Situationist movement in France while getting a box of Breneke slugs for his 12 ga.
Its been a godsend...
