I will admit I had to struggle not to laugh at the song. I'm not sure if it was supposed to have this huge emotional impact or what, but apparently Clint Eastwood held a gun to the studio head at Warner Bros so that they kept it in. Same with the bath scene.
What they need to do is have a spin off movie based off of the barber shop.
