RE: Decided on replaying New Vegas...
The game doesn't have a strong enough hook to keep me going for more than an hour or two, perhaps because towards the middle it starts feeling kind of same-y as it doesn't have enough variation with the number of game play mechanics available to the player and the way they are utilized within the game, with just the plot alone to drive you forward and while the game is certainly well written, this is supposed to be a game, not a movie.
There's no multiplayer to be had, I don't see how they could have worked it in anyway other than for the rather generic shooting bits and the side missions you get while driving from one point to the other, these side missions typically devolve into a shoot out, a car chase or a foot chase that always plays out the same way: Chase guy, catch up to guy, get into fist fight/gun fight/hostage standoff ending with the same canned animation of you radioing in for an ambulance while your partner puts on a sad face because you just killed your millionth armed thug. The main features of the game are the evidence gathering and interrogation angles that showcase the fantastic facial animations and multiplayer cooperative evidence gathering and interrogation doesn't exactly sound like it would be fun at all. Like I said, the investigation and interrogation aspects are basically Phoenix Wright with better graphics and more interactivity with the environments when searching an area for clues, it simply doesn't lend itself to multiplayer.
Mind you, it's an extremely well produced game with an interesting narrative and some clever game play elements and that's enough to keep most people entertained for its duration. What it isn't, is the 10/10 and 5/5 game that all the typical shitty review mills are claiming it to be.
