I tried the demo of Avadon: The Black Fortress
For Necro, I departed from my usual anti-demo stance and tried out this game.
Conclusions:
1. Too much reading. Characters and DM or narrator natter on too much. Almost as bad as Bioware except doesn't make you suffer through voice "acting."
2. Tiny little sims remind and puffy smoke clouds remind me of Baldur's Gate. Design very much like old Infinity Engine games.
3. Needs more Gears of War -- needs Unreal Engine 3, men in giant Space Marine armor, more ray guns, cover system, etc.
4. Have not found any cutscenes. See number 1.
5. No romances. Would like to have deep love relationship with druid and her wolves (also need cutscene in which me, druid, wolves are all sitting around table eating cereal).
6. No awesome button.
