Do you know how Avira, GDATA, Eset, Kaspersky, et al. get those scores with heuristics? They slow down your internet. A lot. Especially Eset (which I like -- not knocking them -- their heuristics are top-drawer, but only if they're turned way up, which makes everything you want to do go wonky). Symantec uses a spicy blend of serious intrusion prevention, behavior checks, "reputation," and up-to-the-minute signatures. That's as good as it gets if you don't want to be dragging around on the information superhighway. Symantec is first-chair. Symantec is pro.
