Subject: A great post about RE 5 on a forum:

Before I get this rant off my chest, and before I jump into an army of die-hard RE fans who will undoubtedly tear me to shreds for saying all of this, I'd like to say I had huge expectations for this game. I am in no way a RE5 hater (or a 360 hater or anything like that). I LOVED Re4, and because of this I have had huge expectations for RE5 and they have been crushed into nothing but dust. Lets get one thing straight: I really wanted to like this game, and I gave it chances.

For the first 5 minutes, it was fun. Within beating both levels, I have to say, I like Resident Evil 4 more. Why?

- Chris is hard as hell to control, because hes so freakin slow in doing everything. This sorta applies for Sheva, too.
- As if the characters weren't slow enough, everything feels unresponsive and the animations couldn't drag on any more (getting enemies off of you is such a bitch). The whole thing is a clunky mess.
- The inventory system is so pathetic. Real time inventory is such fail in this game, it's pathetic. While you CAN select things quickly, I am not about to memorize where all my items go and never use the menu on the chance I'll get butchered by a *bleep*ing ninja.
- Ammo is scarce. Dear god, if I got a dollar for every time the ammo circle said "empty", I'd have more money than the guy who programmed the game to say it. Pistol ammo isn't too rare, but with the amount of enemies you fight, your pistol sorta sucks and will burn through ammo very quickly (not to mention, your partner will most likely be hogging half of it).
- The whole "Lets *bleep* up the combat system by forcing the players to work together" sucks. Capcom, this is NOT Army of Two or Left 4 Dead. I understand the whole teamwork thing can be a plus in the Resident Evil series, but forcing me to rely on my partner for every little thing is a load of crap. EVERY time you get hit by a chainsaw or anything stronger than a knife, it's up to your partner to waste an herb or revive you without healing you or else you die within seconds. It's like Gears of War, but after being revived you have no health or are one herb less.
- Turning speed is slow, even on the maximum speed.
- The control schemes are all weird and none feel right for anyone who played RE4 for the Gamecube, Wii, or Ps2 (not because of the controller being different, just because it feels very awkward).

Honestly, this game is a HUGE let down to me. It might just be my opinion, but while some people here say "zomg its so awesome, *bleep* its a great game!", give it a month and the blinding fanboy light of RE5 will fade revealing the watered down, pretty version of Resident Evil 4 it is. I'm sure a lot of us are in denial (everyone wanted this game to be amazing), but I can't help but feel the only way to like this game is if:

- You love graphics so much (in which case your a complete graphics whore) that you say "omg look at that detail! this game is awesome!"
- You are in complete denial of this game being a let down because of the extreme expectations it had.
- You can look past pretty much all of those flaws I listed above, because you just love Resident Evil games no matter what comes out of them.
- You like it now, and haven't played it enough (usually takes an hour or so) to realize it's not what we expected.

I can't believe I said that, and I know I just guaranteed a flame from every member here
