Is it possible that I'm the only person who recognizes the virtues of this game? Everywhere I go, I see negativity. I see copious slaggings-off and very few real men stepping up and correcting the misguided relegation of this ingenious title to the piles of mediocrity.
The single-player campaign is not only an adventure of the highest order; it's a beautifully crafted life lesson, a sustained parable about honor and fellowship and doing the right thing.
More than this, the game has reinforced more strongly than ever that the Ork is no friend of man, and it is a reminder that Chaos always lurks at the edges of our fragile galactic frontier. If there were ever a time when we needed an encomium about the Adeptus Astartes or a cautionary drama about the dangers of heresy, this is that time.
Space Marine may be of the future to come (in times of the future, when the years stretch out in a direction opposed to the past), but it speaks to us in the here and now.
I haven't tried the multiplayer, though I suspect it sucks in a massive way.
