saw two rattle snakes yesturday
hiking up to cahuenga peak saw two baby rattle snakes at differnt locations.
i wanted to catch them both by placing my water bottle over their head and picking them up but those fuckers are quick. 4pm is the time to go this season.

perhaps the most interesting thing are the pitted ocean bed rocks you encounter twords the top. this place is about 20 miles off shore and 800 or 900ft above sea level. those rocks were under water when north america was somewhere around/well below the fucking equator. this is the only place that has preserved ocean bed rock at that altitude ive seen in all of califoria, and believe me ive seen alot.
