Skyrim will have a big day-one patch
Well, no surprise there. I'm not worried.
The main thing I worry about is that my Amazon copy doesn't show up on Friday for some reason. Amazon and UPS so far have a perfect record with me re: the Premier 2-day shipping thing and the preorder release-day business. I hope they don't screw it up with Skyrim.
But even if Amazon and UPS do their usual amazing thing, will the Steam servers be ready? I think they got Gabe to stop eating donuts long enough to come up with their stupid "load balancing" business, which is really irritating. On top of this, isn't Skyrim a "Games for Windows" title? Does that mean it will try to install Games for Windows Live? Please no.
The odds that Skyrim's launch day will go smoothly are right up there with the lottery winner getting struck by lightning (which happens all the time, so I probably should calm down).
