In stark contrast to this:
I immediately started another game after winning with my flame mage and picked the knight class which I had never used before. I had read about the knight beforehand, knowing that he is more effective while fighting mounted on a steed with a lance at hand, pounding at monsters from a safe distance by using speed and the long reach of a lance. The knight starts with a lance in his inventory and a saddled pet pony so my first action was to use the #ride command to mount the pony which was adjacent to me, but the game rolled me a failure and he fell off the pony, this fumble costs 14 points of damage which was rather unfortunate for him as he only started with 14 points of health to begin with, effectively killing my first knight in a single turn after getting started on his grand quest.
