Take your own advice. Please, don't comment on this thread anymore. Seeing as to how you know so little about something, yet talk so big.
I've known quite a few people like you. Never willing to listen when the opportunity arose to actually learn something all because they had to pretend like they knew something.
So, I'll lay down some info for your dumb ass. Yes, it is possible to rewrite the entire ecm program from scratch, but it will not be simple. Modern cars are more complex then ever, and many seemingly non-related systems are integrated with one another. Rewriting the program will not allow you to see how the car was previously tuned, so you'll be starting from scratch. Without the nearly unobtainable instruments to get the operational parameters, it makes coming up with a tune that much harder. You will also have to analyze the various sensors to determine their operational parameters. Not easy. Besides that huge roadblock, you have the integration of nearly every electronic system in a car (from transmission programming, to power windows) communicating over 2 or 3 busses via CAN. If you try making your own ECM program and neglect the manufacturers proprietary protocol, you'll find that eithe A) the car will never run, or B) you lose much of the car's functionality.
So please, just because you have a car bed doesn't mean you know shit about cars.
