All of my properties are so well defended that only a rare "great host" tries to assail them. The only one of my towns to be sieged by a great host so far is Dhirim, and I kicked the ass out of everybody. The AI eternally tries to besiege Dhirim, so it's not a good town to own unless you're super-fortified like me.
What is super-fortification?
Insane numbers of
1. Nord huscarls
2. Rhodok sergeants
3. Rhodok sharpshoots
4. Vaegir marksmen
5. Swadian knights
Nothing can live trying to assault this force. However, I don't wait inside the town/castle any longer than necessary. As soon as I can break out, it's cavalry time, and then everybody dies. The great host becomes great fail.
