oh yeah
So I got my ged a month or so ago, and I couldn't help being a little troubled by the fact that 11 1/2 years of schooling could be boild down to less than 6 hours worth of tests. The science test was particularly absurd, lacking any meaningful depth beyond the most basic talking points. Great, plants process sunlight and co2 through photosynthesis. I'm glad they didn't go more in depth, because as far as I'm concerned, the rest is magic. Or that water can be purified by distillation. Never mind the fact that I have no idea how to do it effectively enough to ensure that I only boil off water and not other shit. Great, I only have topical knowledge, but most of the practical stuff I know I learned elsewhere. I can't help but feel that I spent much of my childhood in a place not much different than prison. Certainly just a dingy.
