I'll probably give up about the time I get to the Butcher in Hell mode, so Inferno for me is just something to read about. Even so, it is painful. Full of pain and cringing.
Also, I have no doubt that illicit equipment sites will spring up and that people will use them just to spite Blizzard. I don't know how the mechanics will work, but if I can figure out how to use Excel at my primitive level, I'm positive that industrious people in Asia and elsewhere can get around whatever measures Blizzard may have in place. They'll have cheaper prices, too. All they have to do is see what people are selling the Chuck Norris Hat of Hatting for on the RMAH and offer it at 66% off.
I can't even imagine how nuts the D3 "economy" will become if this starts happening.
