I don't see me getting to act 3 infereno at all. Its well and good to talk about damage and armor, but the drops I get are so incremental, it doesn't even matter. I am not really interested in buying anything meaningful at the auctions. The only way I got through act 1 was Jamie carrying me, though I did did get past the skeleton king solo.
Jamie is right about life on hit though: I found a weapon downgrade that had some life on hit and my survivability went up slightly. The real problem now is that as a barbarian, the only real viable tactic is running away. But then I would be better off with a ranged character. Since anything I can do ranged is either a huge fury drain or a huge damage penalty.
All that said, when I was playing Hell, I thought it was insane, but I can harvest it without really trying right now.
