I don't know. I think his idea that garage hobbyists will be cranking these out is farfetched. Microsoft, Samsung, etc. are probably waiting for nerds to get somewhere with all this so they can swoop down and steal it, patent it, make a mess of it, and then drop it into copyright limbo.
Meanwhile, why would I want this for my horses and elves when I have KINECT? (I don't have Kinect, but it's only a matter of time before Microsoft spams it into a necessity.) I mean, Kinect is where it's at. Two years from now, everyone will be flailing around in their totally connected living rooms, playing Gears of Angry Birds with their Kinected Windows phones as controllers and their 120-inch Windows Glass SMART TVs straining against their wall studs. Carmack/Abrash will be remembered as quaint little gnomes like Wozniak and Bill Atkinson.
