Subject: RE: so, zombies

Sim is being a silly pants, but when someone throws a boomer bile jar you're actually *not* supposed to shoot the common zombies, you need to keep running to wherever it is you're supposed to get to and only right click melee whatever common infected gets in your way, you should still go ahead and shoot the specials.

The reason behind this is related to the way the game engine scales to keep frame rates up: There can only be exactly 30 common infected spawned at anytime, when someone throws a boomer bile, every single common infected that is currently spawned will run towards that location and begin attacking the ground, completely ignoring you or the other survivor players, however if people start killing commons, the game will begin spawning new ones to replace the dead ones and these new ones will not be affected by the bile.

The other reason is because the game will also likely spawn the new commons in front of you, and since most infinite horde rushes have you running directly forward, if you throw a bile and run past it, every single common will be behind you and you won't have to worry about getting mobbed from the front as you run towards the next objective. They will also be very far behind when the bile runs out so they will never be able to catch up to you.
