there are two unwritten rules that dictate weather or not an mpfps will be good or not:
1.) does the game have grenade launchers? if so, doe they actually fucking work? if its easy to gl people then the game will be good. i actually hardly ever used gl in mw2 but they were overpowered as fuck and not using them is my hugest regret in the game
2.) are there a bunch of ways of exploiting the game? mw2 had them all, and there was always a fresh exploit being uncovered monthly, which is the perfect rate for for playing with exploits. not to many and not too few, and perfect amount of play time before they would be patched. there were really great map exploits that involved jump tricks/platform jumping that would take you to these perfect murder towers, or awesome hiding/sniping spots. and there were tight ass glitch exploits that would allow you to run like hell or kill people in some way... my favorite being equipping a suicide javelin, which is the largest equipped explosive in the game (especially with the danger close perk). you would do this click trick where it would arm the javelen (which could only be fired up into the air on aircraft lock and never at enemy players) and do a swap where it would be put away mounted on your back while armed, you couldnt use any other weapons other than knife while it was glitched, so you would run around knifing people and if anyone shot you the rocket, which is on your back and nozzle is facing the ground, would launch straight into the ground setting off this FUCK HUGE HIGHLY DETAILED GRAPHICALLY BAD ASS LOOKING EXPLOSION and take out groups of 5 on average. i literally spent a 24 hour period of no sleep doing this one day. i just couldnt get enough of it.
