No really! I actually LOLd at that pic. Yeah, those old nokia bricks could take a licking and keep on ringing. I had a cheapie galaxy for a month - it was ok I guess. Now I have a complete POS samsung sidekick4g. The only decent thing is the physical keyboard, but I only say decent because it's actually too big. Of course, none of the reviews mentioned it being a pile of shit, so I had to find out the hard way.
The only thing I like about Android is the selection of browsers, and flash support is decent enough in a pinch.
My understanding is you want to stay away from tegra-based devices because even the ICS devices still rely on crummy gingerbread drivers. That's not to say they can't be updated - someday - maybe.
My experience with ICS is limited to playing around a tiny bit with a few handsets at a store, but I was far from impressed. I think android has some significant efficiency issues, or maybe I just expect too much.
