Surface looks neat. It seems to be a combination of Air and iPad with a splash of usability. You may be able to use real Office programs on it while enjoying prolonged battery life. Plus, you would have an excuse for Windows 8. This is the ultimate Windows 8 excuse device. This is why Windows 8 exists. Now you can be properly connected on your desktop, your phone, and your Surface, sharing your life with everyone all the time. When you get your Xbox 720 and your Glass TV, Steve Ballmer will come to your house every Wednesday for apricot cobbler.
In a related story, I almost went with that T-Mobile Father's Day deal where you get two free phones, but I couldn't understand the data plan tiers. Also, I remembered that I can't even work my plain, unglamorous Motorola StupidPhone. I just leave it on recharge and stare at it most of the time.
