RE: The minions of Act 3 grow weaker
Inferno has actually gotten more manageable, Blizz drops the ball on a lot of things but they actually followed through with their promise to adjust the difficulty curve through the acts.
As an example: Before the patch, mn and me couldn't even step out of the opening canyon in act 2 without dropping dead about a trillion times, now we just drop dead half that much. We've also been going through act 1 and 2 elite packs, collecting gear off them with 5 stacks of valor, I can't speak for mn but for me, it's about 50 items per run, of which NONE of them are direct upgrades to what I already have and 1 or maybe 2 of them are AH worthy, we have to wait for 1.0.3b to have a slightly better chance at less crappy items.
I'm also bleeding gold from having to repair my stuff all the time, not so much from the dying but just from fighting mobs in general.
Overall with a ranged character you just need to stay on the ball with any defensive abilities you have and kite the elites around. Melee characters will need a lot of life on hit, a decent stack of all resist, lots of vitality and patience.
