How I almost order a power supply I didn't need
Yesterday, September 16, a date that will live in infummy, I heard a strange ticking sound coming from the computer I use for school work.
The ticking was regular, like a clock. I thought it had to be a fan problem.
Not caring to open up the case, I looked in the little side window and saw the power supply fan blade trying to turn but getting stuck. Hence the ticking.
I knew this could only be the sign of a failing power supply, so I immediately got on Newegg and looked for the most expensive Corsair PSU I could find. Then I remembered that I didn't have any money.
This inspired me to open the case and look more closely at the power supply. It turned out that some of those weird little wires that nobody connects to anything had gotten loose and were preventing the PSU fan blade from turning.
In my usual ingenious manner, I fixed the problem and charged myself $150.
