Also, robots can shoot through walls. I cannot shoot through walls.

When you start to beat the game, it decides that you need to kill more robots. It also reaches into your pockets and takes whatever ammo you have and replaces it with a worthless gun. I haven't proved this yet but my inventory is proof.......
