Subject:
After several tries
I 5-skulled The Quarry
bloop
I tried doing it without the barricade trick, but I couldn't manage it.
Loadout:
crossbow with headshot generates mana
ice amulet
mana rage trinket
bone trinket
guardian trinket
barricades with regen
scorchers with burn longer
ceiling pounders with stun
autoballistas with extra range
dwarves with bleed
I stole the bone trinket idea from juicebags. I think this is the only thing that let me get to wave 40. Having a bone pet is very effective -- distracts orcs, protects you, protects your dwarves, hits orcs.
The autoballistas were pretty helpful but not indispensable. Better than archers anyway.
Naturally, I spammed scorcers all over, especially around the barricades. I also put them near the east/west track where the sappers run across to the other side. I even put them under the east/west track inclines (stolen from Nananea).
In the end, the sappers weren't really the problem. The problem was other orcs. For example, earth lords and armored ogres would be coming down the middle track passage, heading toward my killbox, but then they would change their minds and go back up the track incline and start banging on the east barricade. Sometimes orcs would do the same or simply walk around the barricades. I suspect they sometimes walked over them.
Occasionally, a wave would end, and just as the next one was starting, the game subtracted rift points, as if something got through. But nothing was alive.
This is a sick level designed by a sick personality. Sick. Very sick. Needs counseling. Probably a danger to himself and others. Undoubtedly eats too many desserts and wets the bed. Not well-adjusted at all.
