During all this frothing over PoE, not once have I seen anyone mention orcs. Diablo 3 might have been saved with a strong infusion of orc representation. I worry that PoE may be following this trend. The message seems to be, "Orc culture doesn't matter." Well, it does.
Friends, we are in danger of losing the orc heritage. For the first time, an entire generation is at risk of growing up without ever having seen an orc in a fantasy game. The implications are dire, for it's only a matter of time before we marginalize the elf and other foundational races.
Is this what we want? Do we want future generations to stare at us blankly when we ask, "Where are the orcs?" and "What threat does the greenskin pose in this area?"
This is how extinction begins. You may think you'll never lose the exploding barrel, but if you don't cry out every time you see a reduction of barrels that explode, you will wake up one day and they'll be gone forever.
The time to speak out is now. The time to question the diminishment of the orc is this very moment. Procrastination
IS
