I don't understand why anyone is even giving Jason Hall any attention. He doesn't own anything related to the game anymore, so that makes him no more qualified than anyone else to reboot or make a sequel.
I don't even think he has any money anymore. He's only been in charge of failures for the past 10 years, and any IP that Monolith gets that's worth a damn ends up getting sold, probably to keep the company from falling apart.
So I'm sure it's the real Jason Hall, but it looks like he has to go to fan forums for self esteem, as any investor with money is probably laughing at his face right now.
