Pet owners are funny.....
My sister has a bird. Not like a shitty canary or parakeet, but one of those giant talking pirate birds. They paid thousands of dollars for the thing. Whenever they go on vacation, they have to pay like $500 for the pet store to watch it. It doesn't eat regular bird food. They have to constantly buy it special real food and then cut it up into little pieces for it to eat. That wouldn't be a big deal but this is for EVERY meal, 3 times a day. They have purchased and built all kinds of structures for this bird to climb and walk on. Even in a house full of adults, you cant swear because the bird might repeat it. You cant make any loud noises of fast movements either because the bird will get startled and might attack you. I would guess between the food, boarding, cages and all the other crap, this bird costs my sister and her husband about $200-$300 a month just to have around.
Reticently that have had financial troubles and lost their house, moved into a condo. They have downsized alot of things in their lives. The mere mention of maybe getting rid of this expensive bird has them look at you like you want them to shoot a baby in the face. Like I said, pet owners are funny....
