I just wanted to say that muppet has refused my help in the past and has more than paid me back for a certain incident. I don't know anyone more honorable.
Also, there's something deeply wrong with this country. The medical industry (including vets) needs to have its collective ass put in jail for all the suffering it's causing. Every part of it is insanely overpriced in order to rip off insurance companies, Medicaid, etc. No one should be in debt to any of these fee-collection outfits who front for doctors, and they certainly should not be in debt to a hospital. They wouldn't be if services and supplies were costed reasonably and honestly.
I have come to hate the entire medical industry precisely because it has become just that -- an industry. An old man should not have to suffer in a harsh job because a bone marrow operation mysteriously costs umpty-ump thousands of dollars. An operation for a dog should not cost thousands of dollars. You shouldn't have to pay $500 to get your teeth "deep-cleaned." You shouldn't have to forgo seeing a good doctor because a shitty one is in your insurance network.
People will put up with economic perversion only so long before they turn on you.
