Sounds like a keeper. I have never heard of the recommendation to use general for the cranial drawer displacement test but also do not know what are best practices in your area. But it really did sound like you were being milked by the last clinic.
Sorry you need the surgery but that price with a board certified practitioner is a really good deal.
